Just a little batty

Recently my kids and I visited the Columbus Zoo, Aquarium, and Water park located in Columbus Ohio.  One of the rare things we saw there was the "Flying Fox".  Now I had not seen any bats this size anywhere.  Most are fairly small, but this little guy (ok not so little) can have a wing span of up to 6 feet across.  WOW!  The good news is they are fruit bats and are native to Asia.  I still would hate to see this thing coming at me.  Looks like something out of one of those prehistoric movies I have watched.

"I'M Blessed! I woke up this morning!"

Due to the nature of the work I do for a living I come in contact with many people during my normal work day.  I have tendancy when I meet someone on the street to say "Hi, How are you today?".  And due to the nature of what I do people generally don't have a problem with it.  Most just respond with "I am ok".  I came across a man a few weeks ago who responded with "I'M blessed I woke up today". I couldn't help, but think "You know that is exactly right".  Although at times I find my self forgetting it.

The last couple of days have been a real challenge.  I haven't felt the greatest.  My back and legs have been hurting to beat the band (I guess pain is one way we still feel alive). I have felt really tired and sleepy all day both days.  Saturday I had to work which involved a lot of walking and going up and down steps.   Today it was Church.  The good news is I got extra time with my kids, but I just didn't feel like having them here this weekend.  Extra work in getting their clothes ready for church and fixing meals and just being there for them.  Don't get me wrong I enjoyed having them here, but I just wish I had felt better.   I just wanted to lay in bed today not do anything.  There are other issues in my life at the moment, but I won't boar everyone with that information.  I guess I just need to remember what the man on the street said "I'm blessed because I woke up today".

Web site update (Northeastindianarailfan.com)

For those who like trains I have updated my website again.  I have removed the slide show of recent photographs and in its place I have put in a small blog style section to highlight the current photographs that I have taken.  I also moved the recent news and sightings section to the left hand side of the screen. More updates will be forth coming as website evolves.

Jeff Dunham / Walter - Marriage is like drinking a slurpee

According to Walter marriage is like drinking a slurpee.  The first couple of sips and you are thinking this is really great.  Then you get that head ache and you are going "Owe Owe OWE".  After that you are dumb enough to take another drink.  Some how this sounds just about right to me.  LOL!

The difference a week makes

Cosse Luthern Church Near Columbia City Indiana
What a difference a week makes!

Photo of Cosse Lutheran Curch at Highway 30 and 500 East East of Columbia City Indiana.  Park 30 is accross the street from this church.  No I am not Lutheran, but I thought this church was neat so thought I would stop and take this photo.

WOW, what a difference a week made.  Last week It was snowing to beat the band and everything was white.  Yesterday the Sun was shinning just right for this photo. Took this photo on the way to pick up my kids who live just East of Columbia City Indiana.
